Centre For All Round Development (CARD) is an active and acclaimed NGO working in the field of education, disaster management, flood relief, sanitation and health, empowerment of women and the other marginalized groups in the society and the quality enhancement of education in the district of Samastipur in Bihar. It was establishment on the Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti Day of the Year 2002.
In this short span of activities, the CARD has gained the confidence of the various funding agencies such as UNICEF, Aide ET Action, Action Aid, IRRI (International Rice Research Institute), PACS, OXFOM, DFID, NOMI NETWORK and the State Government Departments.
CARD has a high-Quality human resource. It is carrying its multi-fields activities with the help of its 564 trained volunteers and 22 staffs under the overall guidance of a well know social activist of the district Mr. Paras Nath Singh. Among them, two have high level training From RED/R, 255 have Community Leadership Training, two are Reflect Trainers, and two persons are trained in Budget Tracking besides a team of volunteers trained in the community based disaster risk reduction (CBDRR). In 2009, TISS Mumbai associated CARD in formulating its project on engendering the development process.
CARD has adopted Participatory management involving various strake holders. Its 7 Members executive committee’s regularly and actively monitors the functioning of the organization. CARD has Project Advisory Committees (PAC) attached to the Project in Hands. PACs are independent committees comprising some eminent persons from the society and having expertise and experience of various fields.Their advises help the organization in enhancing the quality of project implementation.
The Key Person Mr.Paras Nath Singh has participated in a national workshops organized by ILO and UNICEF at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi and others such as by the Aide et Action in Jaipur in 2009.He is a member of the district level executive committee on the Total Literacy Campaign (TLC) Continuously since 2002 and acted as a coordinator for the Pusa Block of the Samastipur Dstrict. A certificate of appreciation for his work on Sampoorn Sakhsarata Abhiyan has been given to him by the district administration. He has been awarded twice, first in 2004 and again in 2005, by the District Magistrate-cum-Chairman of the Samastipur District TLC for his excellent works of literacy Campaign.
